Thorpe's Tree Service and Landscaping has roots that go back to 1977, when Gene Thorpe started the business as a weekend venture out of Gordonsville, Virginia. Gene saw a real need for reliable, professional tree care in the region. He launched the company with a pickup truck and one employee, building it steadily through honest work and word-of-mouth reputation.

Over the years, the business grew to meet growing demand across Central Virginia. More equipment, more crew members, and more communities served followed naturally from that early foundation. In 1994, Gene's son Todd joined the team, bringing new energy to a business already known for quality. Todd became a partner in 2008, stepping into a leadership role that carried the family's commitment forward.

The third generation arrived when Todd's son Mitchell came on board after finishing high school, learning the trade from the ground up just as his grandfather had built it. Today, Thorpe's Tree Service and Landscaping is a fully family-owned and operated business, fully insured, and proud members of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA). Those memberships reflect a genuine commitment to safety, ongoing education, and professional standards in every job we take on.

We offer a full range of tree and land services for both residential and commercial clients. That includes tree trimming, tree removal, stump removal, lot clearing, forestry mulching, hardscapes, landscaping, firewood, and 24-hour emergency service.
